The New Orleans Saints are members of the South Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the NFL. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana the team was founded in 1967. After only getting to a .500 winning record twice in their first 20 years the Saints became more competitive on a regular basis in 1987. The Saints defeated the St Louis Rams in 2000 for their first-ever playoff win and they won their only Super Bowl appearance over the Indianapolis Colts in 2009.
