2014 Super Bowl Champions – Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in a game that nobody saw coming.  The Seahawk defense has been dominant all year as the #1 defense in the NFL, but Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos had the #1 offense in the NFL that set regular season records for the most passing touchdowns and passing yards.

Broadway Joe Namath’s (complete with a semi-creepy fur coat) initial coin toss required an interception by the referee since neither team had called heads or tails yet.

This wouldn’t be the only interception of the game…  but before the Seahawks could intercept Peyton, there was the first play of the game, a safety.  This unlikely safety cost a Birmingham, Alabama jewelry store $70,000 in refunds for necklaces and jewelry!!!

The Seahawks scored a safety 12 seconds into the game, the fastest score in Super Bowl history.

There were a lot of great plays by the Seahawks and a game that every Bronco fan would like to forget.

So… long story short… the Seahawks dominated the 2014 Super Bowl by such a wide margin, that people in Denver literally turned on the Puppy Bowl instead.
