The Green Bay Packers are the third oldest franchise in the NFL, founded in 1919. They are members of the North Division in the NFL’s NFC. The Packers are the only non-profit, community owned major professional sports team in the United States. The last of the “small town teams” once prevalent in the NFL, the Packers can trace their lineage all the way back to 1896. They have won more league championships than any other team at 13 and their bitter rivalry with the Chicago Bears dates all the way back to 1921.
