NHL

The National Hockey League was organized in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  There are 30 teams, with 23 located in the United States and 7 in Canada.  After an 82-game season, there are playoffs to determine the Eastern and Western conference champions.  These winners then play a 7-game series to determine the winner of the Stanley Cup.
