The ESPYS

Look for me tonight at the ESPYS

A few weeks ago I was able to secure pre-sale tickets to the ESPYS at Nokia Theater LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles.  Well, tonight is the big night!!!  I’ve watched the ESPYS on cable for many years, so when I saw the opportunity to be there in person, I knew I had to jump at the chance.

Hosted by Drake, the Grammy Award-winning and platinum selling recording artist, and featuring an all-star lineup of top athletes and entertainers, The ESPYS is a unique and exclusive one-night celebration of the year in sports. Fans will relive the best plays, biggest upsets and most outstanding performances, and witness touching tributes such as the Arthur Ashe Award and the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance.

The ESPYS is a one-night celebration where everyone in the sports world and athlete community comes together to relive the year in sports…as a fan.

$1 of each ticket purchased will be donated to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The ESPYS has long supported The V Foundation, founded by late basketball coach Jim Valvano after his inspiring 1993 “Don’t Ever Give Up” ESPYS speech. 100% of your donation will go directly to research. Give more if you can – and please never give up on the fight against cancer.

The 2014 ESPYS will be televised live on Wed., July 16th at 6PM/PT on ESPN.

The ESPYS Fan Experience at LA Live

For one day only, ESPN invites fans to enjoy a free celebration of the 2014 ESPY Awards at the LA Live Plaza.

ESPN will count down to the big show with a day of fun and entertainment, including a performance by the amazing Jabbawockeez dance group, a special guest DJ, and a dunk contest judged by a celebrity panel.

Be sure to come early to get a free limited-edition gift bag.

Fans will also catch a glimpse of the athletes and stars as they walk down the red carpet to the big show!

Where to Park / Public Transportation

There are numerous places to park in Downtown LA and is relatively safe to walk around at night.  However, if you want to buy your parking online, buy it here for $25 before it sells out.

However, I’d recommend taking public transportation if you can.  The Blue Line stops at Pico, which is a 2 minute walk from Staples Center and Nokia Theater.  The Blue Line connects with the Red (Union Station to North Hollywood) and Purple Lines (Union Station to Westside) at the 7th & Metro stop.  More public transportation information can be found here.
