I’ll be attending the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Indians game tomorrow night while in New York City for the Affiliate Summit East 2014 conference. Major League Baseball created the AtTheBallpark app to enhance the fan experience, and the app is a pretty sweet addition to my iPhone!
AtTheBallpark App Functionality
The AtTheBallPark app has a lot of information and functionality:

- Allows you to check-in to the stadium for extra benefits and features
- Highlights
- Follow live in At Bat
- Predict with PrePlay
- Purchase tickets
- Map and directory of the stadium
- Offers and promos
- Information about the ballpark, including
- Mass transit info
- Directions and parking
- Weather updates
- Local area info
- Links to Yankees social media accounts

Conclusion
MLB put a lot of thought and functionality into the AtTheBallpark app. I hope that the cell phone carriers have enough capacity to handle all the streaming of video, audio, and app traffic that will result from fans adopting this great technology.
